Colorado Teacher Under Investigation After Duct Taping Student To Chair

Police in Colorado have launched an investigation after they received a video which reportedly shows a female teacher at Prairie Heights Middle School duct taping a seventh-grade student to his chair. Evans Police Chief Rick Brandt said that he watched the video and found it "alarming." Authorities have not released the footage to the public and said they continue to look into the incident.

In the video, the teacher can be seen wrapping duct tape around the boy's torso and legs and even puts a piece over his mouth, as punishment for being disruptive during class.

The school said that the teacher was placed on paid administrative leave after they received a copy of the cellphone video.

"School officials spoke with the boy and his parents after they were made aware of what happened," Theresa Myers, Chief of Communications for Greeley-Evans School District 6 told ABC News. "The school found out two days after the alleged incident took place."

No criminal charges have been filed against the teacher.
