Carrie Underwood Slays American Idol Performance: Watch!

Carrie Underwood’s powerhouse vocals were back on display on American Idol.The country superstar who has sold more albums that any other previous Idol winner returned to her roots Sunday (May 13) to both mentor the show’s Top 5 contestants and perform her latest single “Cry Pretty.”Carrie also joined the contestants to open the show with a performance of her 2013 smash "See You Again."Related: Carrie Underwood's Mom Offers Sweet Message for Mother's Day

“They’re bringing it tonight, they mean business,” Carrie said of Idol’s contestants.“This is life changing, this is real, this is their dreams coming true.”

Finalists Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodward took the stage to earn America's vote by performing Carrie’s biggest hits, including "Undo It," "Last Name," "So Small" and more.

Carrie’s comeback Idol appearance marks the second time she has performed "Cry Pretty" live following her show-stopping world premiere of the song at the ACM Awards in April.

Her new album, also entitled Cry Pretty, drops September 14.
