Luke Combs has always been vocal about his fanaticism for Ed Sheeran.
As it turns out, Ed is a fan of the country star’s, too. The “Shape of You” singer recently posted a video on Instagram story of himself and a friend singing along to Luke’s song “When It Rains It Pours.”
Luke tells CMT Hot 20 Countdown the clip was “really cool to see.”
“I was playing a show when that went up, and so I came off the stage, and my manager was like, ‘You gotta see this video,’” Luke recalls. “It was really cool though. I’m a huge fan."
Luke famously covers Ed’s “Dive” in his concert set and reveals he hope he and the pop superstar can meet at CMT Crossroads one day.
“I think if you break it down, a lot of Ed’s songs could be country songs. I’ve always been kind of drawn to his music for that way,” Luke says.
The singer’s This One’s For You Too album with five new tracks drops June 1.
