Ellen Surprises Viral Yodeler with Invitation to Perform on the Opry

Yodel Boy is Opry bound.

Mason Ramsey, the 11 year old who went viral online for yodeling at his local Harrisburg, Illinois, Walmart, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss his love of classic country music, his first trip to Los Angeles and his biggest dream.

The young Hank Williams, Sr., fanatic told the funny lady he hopes to one day perform on country’s most famous stage, the Grand Ole Opry.

“That's a big dream. It takes years and years to get there,” Ellen told Mason, who politely nodded.

He then put his Walmart-discovered talent on display for Ellen, singing Hank Sr.’s 1949 classic “Lovesick Blues.” The host and her entire audience applauded the future country superstar, who then got the shock of his life.

Ellen surprised the youngster with an invitation to perform on “The Show That Made Country Music Famous” Saturday (April 14) in Nashville.

Not only will Mason fulfill his dream of performing on the Opry, but also he will return back to the Walmart in Harrisburg for a homecoming performance at an exclusive concert organized just for him.
