Carrie Underwood Teases 'Great Surprises' for Stanley Cup Playoffs

Carrie Underwood’s return to the spotlight is sounding more imminent.

The country superstar reveals in an email to the Tennessean she and husband Mike Fisher’s Nashville Predators are cooking up “great surprises” for the team’s second-consecutive Stanley Cup Playoffs run.

"Last year, I was so proud to be the Captain’s wife and loved being able to contribute to the excitement of the playoffs by coming out to perform the anthem at the first game,” Carrie says.

She adds she had “so much fun” in 2017 and has “ask[ed] a few of [her] friends to get in on the action” in 2018.

“Like all of the Preds fans, I’m thrilled that Mike is back on the ice,” she says, “and I love that we are able to bring the music and hockey worlds together this way.”

Predators President and CEO Sean Henry echoes Carrie’s comments, saying the team’s plans for the first round of playoffs “has never been done before a playoff game.”
