Jason Aldean Sounds Off on Mistakes: 'I'm Not Perfect'

Jason Aldean has experienced ups and downs in both his personal and professional life.

The country megastar talks his mistakes in a new interview with CMT’s Cody Alan, revealing the public puts celebrities on “too much of a pedestal” that’s “not reality.”

“I think a lot of times if you’re an artist or you’re in the spotlight, people look at that and [think] ‘Oh, everything must be so perfect.’ If you do anything that’s not perfect, you get crucified for that stuff sometimes,” Jason says. “Listen, I’m the first one to tell you I’m not perfect. I make mistakes all the time. The one thing I’m smart enough to do is learn from them and not do the same thing twice if I do something wrong.”

Jason’s new album, Rearview Town, borrows its name from one of the singer’s own personal philosophies.

“My career and personal life has been like a rollercoaster ride—all crazy. To me, it’s about putting certain things behind you and looking down the road to better stuff, just a brighter day ahead. To me, that’s what it’s all about,” he says.

Rearview Town drops April 13.

Jason’s High Noon Neon Tour kicks off May 10 in Kansas City.
