Did Carrie Underwood Tweet Hint of Husband's NHL Return?

Carrie Underwood may have tweeted a clue that husband Mike Fisher had plans to end his NHL retirement and return to the ice.

Surprise rocked “Smashville” Wednesday (Jan. 31) when the No. 12 centreman announced plans to return for the remainder of the Nashville Predators’ season, but did Mike’s country superstar wife clue everyone in on the big announcement two weeks ago?

“Happening now: the hubby is upstairs working out BLASTING #TheChampion,” Carrie tweeted on January 16 with the heart eyes, kiss and muscle emojis. “Get it, babe!”

Carrie recently dropped “The Champion” as the official song of this weekend’s Super Bowl LII and the 2018 Winter Olympics coverage, but fans are speculating online that the song originally served as Mike’s own championship inspiration.

Carrie took back to Twitter to react once the news had been confirmed.

“This is happening,” she wrote. “Fish is back! So proud of you, baby! We want the cup!!!”
