College National Championship Draws Country Stars

The Georgia Bulldogs may have come up short of a national championship, but it wasn’t due to a lack of country support.

A slew of country music superstars, including Jason Aldean, Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley, Thomas Rhett and Brett Young, rallied for their favorite Georgia team at the 2018 SEC College Football Playoff National Championship.

Zac Brown Band were also in attendance at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to perform the National Anthem before the big game.

Luke Bryan and Ryan Seacrest were not under the big dome but were supporting from afar backstage at press commitments for the upcoming season of American Idol.

“But what we're really doing is watching this,” Ryan says in a video posted by Luke, who pans the camera to a screen playing the game.

Adds Luke, “Streaming live, baby. Right there. Go Dawgs!"

Other celebrities in attendance included Kendrick Lamar, Samuel L. Jackson, Ric Flair and even President Donald Trump.

Despite the diehard passion for the team, the Georgia Bulldogs fell short to the Alabama Crimson Tide 26 - 23 in an overtime thriller for the ages.

The win secures Alabama coach Nick Saban’s sixth championship title.
