Nicole Kidman Addresses Keith Urban in Golden Globes Speech

Nicole Kidman’s talent won her a Golden Globe, her husband wins her heart.

The A-list actress and wife of country star Keith Urban accepted the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie Sunday night (Jan. 7) during the milestone 75th annual show, directly addressing Keith in her acceptance speech.

“When my cheek is against yours, everything melts away, and that is love. It’s true. I love you so much,” Nicole said from stage.

Winning the honor for her role as domestic assault survivor Celeste Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies, Mrs. Urban also noted the topic of sexual assault in Hollywood.

“This character that I play represents something that is at the center of our conversation right now. Abuse,” she said. “I do believe and I hope we can make the change through the stories we tell and the way we tell them. Let’s keep the conversation alive.”

Nicole and the rest of the Golden Globes attendees wore black in protest against sexual harassment and in support of the Time’s Up campaign, which, according to its mission statement, is “a unified call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere.”

Nicole’s win in 2018 marks the fourth Golden Globe win of her career.
