Florida Georgia Line Makes Country History with Pop Duet

Florida Georgia Line once spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts with “Cruise,” and now they’re back at the top.

But this time the country duo is debuting in the pinnacle position!

FGLS’ “Meant to Be,” their pop music collaboration with Bebe Rexha, now becomes only the fourth song ever to debut at the top of the Hot Country Songs rundown.

Garth Brooks did it in 2007 with “More Than a Memory” and, when the chart began compiling its list based on airplay, streaming and sales data in 2012, two other songs made No. 1 debuts: The Voice season seven winner Craig Wayne Boyd’s “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face” and the CMA’s “Forever Country: Artists of Then, Now & Forever.”

Bebe, who is best known for her 2017 hit “I Got You” and others, is now the first solo female artist credited on a song to debut in the top Billboard position.
