Taylor Swift Is Coming Back to Country Radio

It’s a new day for Taylor Swift.

The former country superstar has just released “New Year’s Day,” the final track on her new album reputation, to country radio.

Taylor’s record label home Big Machine Records serviced the piano ballad to country stations nationwide Wednesday (Nov. 15) following the singer’s performance of the song earlier this week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

After an eight-year career in country music, Taylor famously shifted away from the genre with the release of her first pop album, 1989, in 2014. She hasn’t charted a song in country music since 1989’s first single, “Shake It Off,” peaked at No. 58 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.

But she’s not been without attention in country.

Most recently, Taylor’s “Better Man,” which she wrote for Little Big Town, won Song of the Year at the CMA Awards.
