Carrie Underwood Goes Under the Knife

Carrie Underwood is on the mend.

The country superstar recently took a “hard fall” on the steps outside her home in Nashville, breaking her wrist and suffering other cuts and abrasions.

Carrie took to social media Wednesday (Nov. 15) to update fans on her recovery.

“I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great. Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well...even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on,” she writes. “I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me.”

According to an initial statement from her rep, Carrie was taken to the hospital after the accident, and husband Mike Fisher traveled over night to be with his injured wife.

A broken wrist won’t stop Carrie from hosting GRAMMYs Greatest Stories: A 60th Anniversary Special Friday, November 24 at 9/8c on CBS.
