How Luke Bryan Works to 'Appreciate Every Day'

Luke Bryan has taken the good with the bad.

The country superstar appeared in an ABC News special Monday night (Nov. 7) entitled “Luke Bryan: Living Every Day” and revealed how his family has coped since the tragic deaths of both his brother Chris in 2000 and his sister Kelly in 2007.

“I’ve watched my family go through ebbs and flows where we get mad at God and we get mad at why this happened,” Luke told host Robin Roberts.

Even after more family tragedy when Kelly’s widower Ben died in 2014 and Caroline Bryan’s infant niece passed away earlier this year, the new American Idol coach’s faith hasn’t wavered.

“You keep going and you try to, try to be as positive as you can, and you try to appreciate every day,” he said. “You’ll never get back to 100 percent. You’ll always be working to get back to 75 percent.”

Luke is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at Wednesday night’s 51st Annual CMA Awards.

His new album What Makes You Country drops everywhere December 8.
