The music world is mourning the loss of one of its greats.
Tom Petty passed away Monday (Oct. 2) due to cardiac arrests, his manager confirms.
Reba, Jake Owen and Jennifer Nettles were among the many country stars to share their shock and condolences on social media.
Mr. Petty released 13 studio albums, and on Monday, September 25, he and his band the Heartbreakers played the famed Hollywood Bowl.
Additionally, the three-time Grammy winner was honored as the 2017 MusicCares Person of the Year.
Mr. Petty is survived by two daughters, Adria Petty and Kimberly Violette Petty, and his wife, Dana York.
He was 66.
