Listen up, Dolly Parton!
Ellen DeGeneres wants to bring back one of the big screen’s most iconic movies.
Jane Fonda made an appearance on the funny lady’s daytime talk show this week when conversation turned to the revival of 9 to 5, the popular 1980 flick which co-stars Jane, Lily Tomlin and country’s own Dolly as three working women who aim to overthrow their not-so-nice boss.
“At our ages, either we’d own the company or we’d be in a retirement home,” Jane responded to Ellen’s sequel idea. “Nowadays, it wouldn’t be called 9 to 5. It’d be called... 5 to 9.”
Ellen then ran with the idea, suggesting “the guy running the retirement home is the jerk” in the new installment.
Could Dolly, whose already revived the story for Broadway, bring back the legendary movie as one of her next TV movies for NBC?
In the meantime, check out a new promo featuring models "workin' 9 to 5" at the Vogue magazines offices in New York City.
