George Strait Planning Storm Relief with Country Community

The heart of country music continues to be with the people of Texas.

As the state recovers from the damage left behind from Hurricane Harvey, country’s biggest names are coming together to help with recovery efforts.

Texas native George Strait took to social media to share his thoughts and prayers for the people affected by the storms, adding he is “working on putting together relief efforts with the whole country music community.”

Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert has announced her MuttNation Foundation rescued 72 dogs displaced by the storm in its first day on the ground in Houston. The dogs are now being transported to dry, safe shelters across the country.

Chris Young, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris and more are also doing their part to aid the victims of the storm.

According to CBS, forecasters estimate Harvey dumped about 15 to 20 trillion gallons of water across Texas.
