Gwen Stefani On Judging American Idol: You 'Just Never Know'

Could American Idol pull the ultimate steal on The Voice?

As the Idol reboot continues its search for superstar judges, Gwen Stefani, occasional coach on The Voice, tells E! News whether she’d consider jumping ship and joining AI’s judging panel.

“That would, like, I don’t know,” she says. “You never know what could happen. You just never know...but I doubt it.” 

Gwen’s potential appointment as a judge on Idol wouldn’t be the first surprise shake-up from the competing shows. Days after American Idol announced its ABC revival in May, its NBC counterpart reclaimed the spotlight by announcing Kelly Clarkson, Idol’s original winner, would serve as a coach on The Voice’s fourteenth season.

Is Idol’s next move to snatch Blake Shelton's girlfriend? So far names rumored to be in talks to judge American Idol are Luke Bryan, Charlie Puth, Lionel Richie and Shania Twain—just to name a few.

Ryan Seacrest is set to host when Idol returns to the small screen in 2018.
