Glen Campbell has lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The legendary country star passed away Tuesday (8/8) after a long battle with the disease, a tweet from his official account confirms.
Mr. Campbell released a string of hits in his more than 50-year career, including “Gentle on My Mind,” “Galveston” and “Rhinestone Cowboy.”
Also known as an actor and TV host, the country great hosted The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS from 1969-1972.
Most recently, I’ll Be Me, a 2014 documentary, chronicled Mr. Campbell’s farewell tour and struggle with Alzheimer’s.
He was 81.
