RaeLynn's Single Has Always Been Blake Shelton's Favorite

“Lonely Call” was Blake Shelton’s call all along.

RaeLynn’s new single has long been a favorite of her former coach on The Voice, and in a new interview with CMT’s Cody Alan, the rising country star reveals why.

“We were all headed to dinner one night,” RaeLynn recalls of a night out in Los Angeles with Blake about four years ago, “and I was like, ‘Oh, I wrote this new song.’ I played him ‘Lonely Call,’ and he goes, ‘That’s got to be your single right now. That song is so good.’ He literally made me play it 20 times in the car, and it’s always been one of his favorites.”

Fast forward to 2017 when RaeLynn began assembling songs for her debut album WildHorse, and Blake’s positive reaction to “Lonely Call” influenced her to include it among the album’s tracks.

“He was so pumped about it. He was like, ‘You wait. When your record comes out, people are going to flip over this song.’ It honestly raised its hand. The fans picked it. They picked my next single,” RaeLynn adds.

Good call, Blake.
