Kelly Clarkson Plans to 'Annihilate' Blake Shelton on The Voice

Them’s fightin’ words, Kelly Clarkson.

The original American Idol winner will take a turn as a coach on The Voice in the spring of 2018, and in a new interview with the Chicago Tribune, Kelly jokes she will “annihilate” her country music buddy Blake Shelton on the show.

The two, who are actually really good friends, will also perform together at the upcoming Department of Defense Warrior Games opening ceremony.

“I’m a big fan of [Blake’s],” she says. “Always have been for, I don’t know, for like a decade now we’ve been friends. So yeah, it should be fun.”

The official kickoff of the paralympic-style competition hosts around 265 competing wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and US Special Operations Command.

See Blake and Kelly perform at the Department of Defense Warrior Games opening ceremony July 1 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Voice returns for Season 13 with coaches Blake, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine and Jennifer Hudson on September 25.
