Lorde recently inserted her foot in her mouth during a recent interview with The Guardian.
And now she’s apologizing!
In the conversation, the “Green Light” singer and self-professed best friend of Taylor Swift compared her friendship with the one-time country star to an “autoimmune disease.”
“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do,” Lorde says of maintaining a relationship with a friend who is as famous as Taylor. “There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”
When one Twitter user pointed out that the girl squad’s fellow member Selena Gomez suffers from lupus, Lorde apologized for what she calls an “insensitive” comment.
“didn’t mention taylor, but regardless, i f—– up & that was really insensitive. i’m sorry,” she wrote in response.
Lorde’s apology comes hot off the heels of another “I’m sorry” directed Taylor’s way.
Longtime enemy Katy Perry recently spoke out in an interview to apologize to the “Bad Blood” singer for her role in their public feud, adding she hopes to now “come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion.”
