One Direction's Niall Horan Is Into 'Folky, Country' Stuff

Niall Horan has found a new direction, and it could be leading him to the country.

In a new interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the former One Direction member reveals he has an ear for country music and it found its way onto his forthcoming solo debut.

“I love [country music]. Some of it is a bit of a shock to the system, but I’m getting there now. I’ve spent enough time in America to get into it,” Niall tells Ryan. “I was brought up on The Eagles and Crosby, Stills & Nash. I’ve got that folky, country, kind Americana stuff in me anyway. And my album—there’s some stuff like that.”

Niall even was spotted at the recent Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, California, to enjoy Shania Twain’s headlining set.

“It was great. I really had a good time.... I spent a bit of time with Shania because the guy that produced her album produced mine as well, Jacquire King,” Niall adds.

Niall’s new single “Slow Hands” is available now. Look for his album later this year.
