Carrie Underwood is nothing if not both humble and grateful.

The country superstar accepted the BMI Board of Directors Award this week in Las Vegas to honor her major impact on the broadcast industry.

“I am beyond blessed to get to do what I do, and am grateful that I am surrounded by such incredible people,” Carrie said when she accepted the award. “I love the people that I get to work with — it’s a joy, a pleasure and a privilege. Thank you so much BMI for everything that you have done for me and my music.”

Carrie follows in the footsteps of Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, Carlos Santana and more, who have previously been awarded the BMI Board of Directors Award.

The “Dirty Laundry” singer also cleaned up with new BMI songwriting awards for “Heartbeat,” “Little Toy Guns” and “Smoke Break” as well as nine BMI Million-Air Certificates for songs that have had more than one million spins on radio.

Carrie is currently taking a break from music before she begins recording her next studio album.
