Sam Hunt Could Release Four Singles Before a New Album Drops

Sam Hunt isn’t a single man, but he is a singles man.

The recently married country star could release up to four singles before his long-awaited sophomore album hits stores, a new Billboard article reports.

Already finding huge success with the project’s lead single “Body Like a Back Road,” Sam tells the publication he sees no definite album release date in sight.

“I try to make music that’s relevant to my life and relatable to the culture I live in,” Sam says. “Putting out music as it’s made, versus holding it until an album’s finished, allows me to be more timely and maintain balance.”

With his singles-before-album approach, Sam follows in the footsteps of Keith Urban, who released three singles of his own before his critically and commercially successful Ripcord album dropped in 2016.

For now, “Body Like a Back Road” is on a trajectory to break streaming numbers set by Sam’s “Take Your Time” in 2014, earning 59.5 million streams in just two and a half months.

The song, which will soon head to pop radio, currently sits at No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.
