Little Big Town is spreading more than happiness with the new single.
The ACM Vocal Group of the Year cover the new issue of Billboard magazine and reveal “Happy People” is the closest thing they’ll get to a political statement.

“There’s probably not a house in America that’s not divided right now, disagreeing about things going on in the country,” the band’s Karen Fairchild says of the song’s “message about humanity.” “If you can’t learn to look across the table and go, ‘I love you and I totally disagree with you, but hey, let’s have a glass of wine....’”
They hope the song influences people to be kind to one another and creates a movement to “hashtag ‘bring back manners,’” Kimberly Schlapman says.
“Why is it now OK to say horrible things about people?” she asks. “Why is it now normal?”

Answers Karen with a laugh, “Because they didn’t go to Camp Elegance. They didn’t go to Mr. Manners class like we all did.”
