TR tells GQ he looks at the career of Taylor Swift as a model for his success.
“Taylor Swift is somebody I look up to a lot in that respect,” he says. “When you think of all the things that Taylor Swift has accomplished, you’re just like, “You’ve sold out multiple nights at soccer stadiums in Australia. What else is there to do?” And then you always see Taylor diving into something new.”
Thomas takes a new dive with his latest single “Craving You,” an 80s-inspired pop-country love song with a groove like no other.
“I definitely gravitate in a pop direction, but at the end of the day there is no changing this voice that God gave me,” Thomas says of “Craving You.” “It’s Southern by the grace of God. And I’m not sure I could make it sound any more pop than this song right here.”
