Kelsea Ballerini is every tween’s music obsession and every mom’s dream come true.
The country songstress, who is gearing up for a big 2017 with new music ahead, sat down for an interview with GQ and revealed her forthcoming sophomore album will keep her young fans happy while also being “honest about growing up and becoming a young woman.”

“The whole heartbeat of the first record is young, which I think is what made it relatable to young girls. Which was a really special thing. And so I’m careful to acknowledge that when I'm writing now... This new record is a lot more on that country-pop line. But the heartbeat of it is still country.”
And her own heart still beats for those young fans, for whom she tries to remain a positive role model.

“You don’t want to overthink it too much. I see little girls at my meet-and-greets who are like ‘Kelsea! It’s my first concert and I came to see you.’ And I’m thinking, ‘I don’t want to post anything online that your mom would be mad at me for, because you’re important to me.’”
