Tim McGraw's New Film is a Surprise Hit

The Shack should be called The Smash.

The faith-based film starring Octavia Spencer, Sam Worthington and country’s own Tim McGraw surprised critics everywhere with its first-week finish at the box office this weekend, raking in a whopping $16.1 million across 2,888 theaters.

Those numbers earned The Shack the best showing for a Christian-leaning movie since Heaven Is Real earned $22.5 million in its first week three years ago.

The Shack tells the story of a man who endures a family tragedy, rocking him to the core and leading him to “the shack” where the unbelievable horror took place. When he arrives, he is greeted by a group of strangers who help him find his way out of grief and remind him of the love God has.

The movie is based on the best-selling novel written by William Paul Young. Look for it in theaters now!
