Taylor Swift is the reason for the teardrops on Kelsea Ballerini’s guit... err, pillow.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Yeah Boy” singer recaps the night Taylor invited her to perform her then single “Love Me Like You Mean It” at the 1989 World Tour stop in Nashville, calling it “hectic” and “amazing.”
But a word she might use to describe a few hours later is “emotional.”
“I got home that night and I was laying in bed, and she posted the picture of me and her from that night on her Instagram. And I looked at it and I balled,” Kelsea said. “It was the first time that it actually hit me what had happened that night.”
The pair became friends after Taylor tweeted about Kelsea’s debut EP back in the spring of 2015.
Since then, Kelsea has gone on to sell thousands of copies of her debut album The First Time, headline her own tour and even receive a Grammy nomination.
