Exclusive: Carrie Underwood Supports an 'American Idol' Comeback

Carrie Underwood thinks the curtain will open again on American Idol.

Reports surfaced this week the legendary singing competition that ran for 14 years on Fox may be revived on NBC in the near future.

It’s an idea Carrie herself first predicted exclusively with Cody.

This... is the revival of American Idol?

“I really wouldn’t be surprised if a few years down the road ... it comes back,” Carrie told us last summer. “I hope they figure out some way ... we see it come back bigger and better than ever. You never know.”

The “Dirty Laundry” singer performed “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” with judge Keith Urban and her own “Something In the Water” during the show’s farewell episode back in April of 2016.

Reps for both NBC and American Idol producer Fremantle declined to comment on the reported reboot.
