Brantley Gilbert is strong in more ways than one.
The country superstar got honest this week when he dropped by the CMT radio studio, revealing he long misunderstood the true meaning of “tough.”
“For a long time in my like, I had a misconception of what being tough was,” Brantley says exclusively. “I thought being tough was all about being physically though, an intimidating figure, and being able to handle yourself physically ... I found out, through the years, that being morally though and spiritually tough is definitely more important. I want to surround myself with people who are morally and spiritually tough.”
“The Weekend” singer and recovering alcoholic goes on to say he now surrounds himself with “people that are motivated and driven and also people that are morally strong.”
