Blake Shelton Remembers Late Brother in 'The Voice' Promo

Blake Shelton’s biggest musical influence is his brother Richie.

The Voice coach remembers his late sibling in the hit NBC singing competition’s latest promo, in which the coaches reveal the people who’ve inspired them musically.

“Whoever he was listening to, that’s what I listened to. It was so loud,” Shelton said of his older brother with a laugh.

Richie died at the age of 24 in a tragic car accident. Blake was just 14 at the time, and he turned his heartbreak into a hit song with “Over You,” a song ex-wife Miranda Lambert included on her 2011 album Four the Record.

The Voice premieres February 27 on NBC.
