Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will bring their real-life romance to the small screen in a fictional story for 1883.

The upcoming series, which will air on Paramount+, will serve as a prequel to the Emmy-nominated series, Yellowstone, which debuted on the network in 2018. The fourth season is expected to air in late 2021. According to a press release, 1883 follows the Dutton family as James (McGraw) and Margaret (Hill) head out west. They’ll be joined by Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott), who has been described as "a tough-as-nails, handsome cowboy with immense sadness in his past," who guides the family from their poverty-stricken lives in Texas to a better future in Montana.

"This is truly a dream job ... The Duttons are tremendous characters, and it’s so thrilling to be able to bring them to life,” McGraw said in a statement. "As a kid growing up riding horses, you think about dream jobs like this, and I am just so excited to work with this amazing cast and crew." Hill also chimed in on the announcement, saying, "This is the opportunity of a lifetime. The Duttons are a formidable family, and it is an absolute dream to bring such a strong female character like Margaret Dutton to life."

1883 will see Taylor Sheridan as the show's creator, with 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions serving as production partners. Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari are set to step into executive producing roles.
