Seaforth Tells Heart Wrenching Story Behind The Song 'Breakups'

It's not always rainbows and butterflies or beer and trucks. Sometimes we need a good sob fest, and if you needed to let it all out with an ugly cry, then Seaforth has you covered with their latest song, "Breakups."

The duo recently joined Cody Alan to debut their new music video, which they say came together after Tom Jordan of the band went through a real-life breakup.

"I went through a long-distance kind of relationship where we broke up. It was tough because we didn't end on bad terms or anything," reveals Tom. "She was in Australia, and I was in Nashville, and that was super easy to make work, as you can imagine.

"But, when that ended, we got in a room with Liz Rose and Cameron Bedell, two of our favorite writers in town," says Tom. "And, kind of just told that story, and it was very apparent at the time and remained apparent as we started teasing it on social media and playing it for friends and even at shows…people would always really connect with that song."

"We kind of knew there was something special there," Tom continues. "You write something so special that's so personal at a particular time...It means a lot to us to see people reacting the way that they are. It's really special."

"We wanted to showcase the emotion in the music video," says Tom. "It's been a really cool journey for the song."
