Gabby Barrett Reacts To Taylor Swift's Surprise Appearance

CMT's 'Breakthrough Video of the Year' winner Gabby Barrett has a few enthusiastic words to share with Cody Alan about her surprise interaction with Taylor Swift during the 2020 CMT Awards.

Gabby joins Cody as his December 'Next Woman of Country Music Artist' and says that winning the award for 'Breakthrough Video of the Year' is a moment that she will cherish forever.

"So, I didn't know that I had won the award or anything like that," says Gabby as she retells the story of what happened leading up to her award show win.

"I had gone downtown to Nashville to film a couple of things throughout the day. And, I go to my management's building and come off the elevator. There is, like, the whole crew from my team there, and they're all looking really excited," says Gabby.

"They're like, "So there is somebody that we want you to talk to, and you're going to put an earpiece in and go with the flow," Gabby continues. "And, we go in the room and put in the earpiece, and all of the sudden Taylor Swift pops on the screen!"

"I was like, "Oh! Is this real life right now?" "Is that really Taylor Swift right there?" says "The Good Ones" singer. "It's such a huge honor. Even to hear her say my name. I am just like, "Can I save this forever?" and I will. It was very exciting."

Taylor Swift won the CMT "Breakthrough Video of the Year" award in 2007 for her debut smash hit, "Tim McGraw."

When presenting the award, Taylor opens with a powerful statement, "I was honored to win this award 13 years ago because it's voted on by the fans. The CMT 'Breakthrough Video of the Year' shines a light on brand new artists, and I can't wait to hear who you chose this year," says Taylor as she name checks the country newcomer.
