In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Jessie shared why she was most excited to cover this song.

“To be honest with you, I have run out of Christmas songs to cover,” laughs the “Lights Down Low” singer. “So, I went through my mind and thought, “What is another favorite Christmas cover that I haven’t done yet?” I thought of the Jackson 5, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” It’s one of my absolute favorites, and I got really excited about it.”

“The great thing about Christmas music is you can kind of switch up the sound. It doesn’t have to be totally your sound. I mean, look at Brett Eldredge, for example. He sounds like Frank Sinatra. So, I wanted to be able to play with this one a little bit and bring out that R&B that I have inside of me and play with that soul and just bring it.”

Jessie is excited to share this energetic Christmas song ahead of the holidays and says that it is very descriptive of her how her home feels during the holidays, especially Christmas morning.

“I had three kids under the age of 5 at one point,” says Jessie. “It is full of a lot of energy. They get really excited in the morning; they all have their different personalities. It’s really special.”
