Reba McEntire Says Shelby Blackstock's Racing Career Began On A Golf Cart

Did you know that Reba McEntire's son, Shelby Blackstock, is a professional race car driver?

Interesting fact – Shelby got his "feet wet" in the profession, by chasing geese on the McEntire/Blackstock farm when he was young.

In an interview with Cody Alan, the country music titan shared, "Shelby would jump on the golf cart, and he would be driving. He could barely touch the gas pedal. He would drive me around the place, and he would say, "Hang on! It's going to be a bumpy ride!" and we would chase the geese all around."

"I've never been on the track with him. I don't plan on it either," says Reba.

The "Fancy" singer continued to share that she was shocked when her son came to her during his freshman year at college and shared that he wanted to pursue the high-speed profession.

"He came to me when he was a freshman in college and said, "I don't want to go to college anymore. I want to be a race car driver!" I said, "Who are you, and what have you done with Shelby?" she laughs. "I had no idea."
