Hunter Hayes Side Steps Questions About Appearing On 'The Masked Singer'

Ground control to Hunter Hayes, we knew it was you!

Country singer Hunter Hayes landed back on earth after being unmasked to reveal that he was, in fact, the Astronaut on 'The Masked Singer.'

On Wednesday's episode (April 29), the Astronaut's star dimmed as he came back to earth, earning a sixth-place position on the popular television singing show. The 28-year-old Grammy award winner says being on the show was 'an unbelievable experience' and jokes that it was 'out of this world.'

In an interview with Cody Alan days before the television show's episode aired, the "Night and Day" singer sidestepped rumors that would have exposed him as being the Astronaut.

"You have heard these rumors, I assume?" quipped Cody during their telephone interview.

"Never. Hunter shrugged off the comment. "I haven't heard that at all."

"Plus, you've been in California," Cody pressed. "I'm just putting together all of the pieces."

"Yeah, I see where your heads going, but I think what we need to focus on here is that there is a part two to an album that I have been working on," Hunter laughs clumsily as he pads his cover story with supporting details. "We started in June on part two, and I realized that this was going to be a west coast album, and it needed to be made on the west coast."

"Are you interested in space travel at all?" laughs Cody.

"I mean…You know… As you know that I have always been a big fan of flying. That's always been a big thing for me," Hunter spilled before changing the subject to a recent hang-gliding experience he had.

Hunter's musical journey on the TV show had to come to an end, but his real-life musical journey is far from over. Catch great music from this country music heartthrob by streaming 'Wild Blue Part 1' available everywhere now.
