CMT Music Awards Reaches Millions

Country’s Biggest Party and country’s only fan voted award show soared in viewership, and by soared, we mean MILLIONS of viewers!

The show hosted by Little Big Town, boasted more performances than any other country award show in history and country fans seemed to dig it. As if the award show itself was the only milestone of numbers to mention, Cody Alan and Katie Cook brought the CMT Red Carpet to viewers in a livestream via Twitter. The CMT Twitter livestream netted over 2 million views!

Winners included, Kane Brown receiving ‘Male Video of the Year’ with his hit “Lose It”. Dan and Shay received the award, ‘Duo Video of the Year’ for their song “Speechless,” while Zac Brown Band received the award for ‘Group Video of the Year’ for their track “Someone I Used to Know”.

Country music’s darling, Ashley McBride swept ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year’ for her song “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” And, Keith Urban and Julia Michaels shared the award for ‘Collaborative Video of the Year’ for their smash “Coming Home”. Let’s not forget the “Beautiful Crazy” collaborative win between Luke Combs and Leon Bridges landing the ‘CMT Performance of the Year.’

Carrie Underwood continued her domination at the show as she won ‘Video of the Year’ for “Cry Pretty,” before also taking ‘Female Video of the Year’ for “Love Wins”. Carrie is now recognized as CMT’s most decorated winner and has received a total of 20 CMT awards up to date.

While the CMT Awards are over the CMA Fest is continuing in Nashville, from Thursday, June 7 through Sunday, June 10 2019.
