Elle King will soon be taking the stage alongside Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Pistol Annies, Tenille Townes, and Caylee Hammack on the upcoming ‘Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour,’ but this isn’t Elle’s first foray in country music.
Elle was also featured on Dierks Bentley’s 2016 smash hit, “Different For Girls” which was nominated for a Grammy, ACM Award, CMT Music Award, and Billboard Music Award before winning a CMT Award for Vocal Event of the Year.
With lyrics like, "It's different for girls when their hearts get broke / They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and Coke / They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing / They can't just switch it off every time they feel something," "Different for Girls" instantly resonated with the married father of three and Elle became the perfect duet partner.
Undoubtedly, Elle and Dierks have a strong mutual respect for each other and have become great friends. They’re often commending each other talents by low-key “fangirling” over each other and laughing over each other’s tall tales. fangirling over each other and laughing over each other’s tall tales.
Watch the throwback video below to see what excuse they tried to tell Cody Alan when he asked them “why” they decided to collaborate on this song.
