Brett Young and his new wife Taylor are having a baby! The country musician and his longtime sweetheart are due to have their first child early this fall, PEOPLE exclusively reported on Saturday (April 6).
“We have always shared the same heart for wanting a family,” the 38-year-old singer-songwriter told the publication of the baby news. “I love knowing that we get to give this little one an amazing life, and I just can’t wait for the future ahead of us as a family. We are so blessed!”
Per the report, the couple, who tied the knot at the Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert, California, in November in front of 200 guests, learned they were expecting in February after taking a pregnancy test "on a whim" during their Super Bowl weekend trip to Las Vegas.
“I was in shock when it read positive. I really just didn’t believe what I was seeing,” Taylor recalls. “After it sunk in, I was so happy and so overwhelmed that I just started crying — happy tears of course! Brett and I hugged, kissed and talked for hours about how long we had been wanting this and how excited we are to become parents.”
Taylor is especially excited and confident for parenthood with the "Sleep Without You" artist, who she says will be "an incredible dad" and that "being a father will come so naturally to him," to which Brett added: “This child will have such an incredible mother — there is absolutely no doubt that she will be the best mom on the planet. I, personally, can’t wait to see Taylor hold our little one for the first time."
Congratulations, Brett and Taylor!
