Preview Carrie Underwood's New Super Bowl Song

Carrie Underwood may be shying away from the public eye at the moment, but her voice is in the spotlight once again.

The country superstar’s new song “The Champion” aired Saturday night (Jan. 6) during the NFL wild-card match-up game between the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams.

The energetic anthem, which Carrie wrote for Super Bowl LII in February, aired early during the game’s halftime after Carrie and the NBC teased “something new” was coming.

Fan response to the song was overwhelmingly positive, but Carrie’s husband Mike Fisher was the song’s first fan.

“My husband loved it. He would listen to it before playoff games," she told Variety in September 2017 of her now retired NHL star husband.

“The Champion” is only the first of new music to come from the singer. In a year-end message to her fan club members, Carrie teased she has re-entered the studio to begin work on her sixth studio album.

Expect it to drop sometime in 2018, and don’t miss “The Champion” in its entirety when Super Bowl LII airs February 4 on NBC.
