George Strait is the King of Country—and of Texas.

The legendary cowboy has been named Texan of the Year by the Texas Legislative Conference.

The group will recognize George for his work in raising funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey at a ceremony next March in New Braunfels, Texas.

“No one has done more than George Strait to raise awareness and funds for the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts,” Former Texas State Representative and Conference Chair Doug Miller says. “He put his well-earned reputation on the line and asked not only his fellow Texans to step up, but all Americans. And they have.”

Previous recipients of the honor include former presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush.

George wraps his 2017 concert dates in Las Vegas this weekend at T-Mobile Arena.
