Out with the old, in with the cold.

Dierks Bentley marked beginning of 2016 with his annual New Year’s Day polar plunge in Nashville’s Piercy Priest Lake.

The country star and new co-host of the ACM Awards welcomed a slew of friends to join him for the frigid jump into the Music City waters.

“Lake jump 2016. This is ridunkulous but we're doing it anyway,” Dierks says in a video of the event. “I don't know why we do this, but we do it.”

A nearby friend clarifies the polor plunge helps “to wash off the old and breathe in the new.”

The 2016 plunge follows last year’s, which also featured DB’s opening tour acts at the time Canaan Smith, Kip Moore and Maddie & Tae.
