Watch U2 Cover a Dierks Bentley Song

You know you’ve made it when U2 covers one of your songs.

Dierks Bentley recently saw the legendary band perform their version his smash hit “Drunk On a Plane” during their Joshua Tree Tour stop in Louisiana, and the country star could barely believe it.

“Trying to process... #U2 breaking into drunk on a plane last night. Can’t make this up. #drunkonaplane #beautifulday,” Dierks captions a video of the performance.

Bono takes the lead on the “Drunk” lyric, singing “It’s Mardi Gras up in the clouds/I’m up so high, I may never come down” during the band’s performance of their hit “Beautiful Day.”

Believe it or not, Dierks and Bono share opinions on each other’s music, Dierks revealing to Radio.com he texts the icon his new music for feedback.

“I guess I have a tradition now of sending a song or two to Bono for every record and getting a response,” Dierks says.

Bono approved or not, Dierks’ newest song will appear in an upcoming movie called Only the Brave. Check it out in theaters October 20.
